Travel formalities during Covid-19

 

All travel formalities listed below must be followed by all passengers prior to, during and on arrival of your flight. Before your flight, check the travel documentation needed for your destination.

IMPORTANT : It is the passenger's responsibility to comply with the health, immigration and travel rules issued by the relevant authorities of the countries of departure, transit and arrival in your itinerary. A number of information links are available below. We invite you to read them carefully.

Depending on your destination, from the age of 6, a surgical mask may still be required during all phases of your journey from check-in to destination for all passengers traveling on an Aircalin-operated flight. Fabric or washable masks are not permitted.

Formalities by destination

To New Caledonia

As of Monday, August 1, 2022, all sanitary requirements to New Caledonia are lifted, according to the Decree 2021-699.

As of January 5, 2023, passengers from China to New Caledonia must present a negative Covid 19 test less than 48 hours old prior to boarding.

 

Note: Masks are no longer mandatory on our flights to New Caledonia. However, it remains an effective way to protect yourself and others.

To Metropolitan France

As of Monday, August 1, 2022, all sanitary requirements to Metropolitan France are lifted, according to the Decree 2021-699.

To Australia

IMPORTANT: Changing travel restrictions:

  • Removal of pre-departure testing since April 18, 2022;
  • Removal of mandatory vaccinations as of July 6, 2022;
  • Removal of the DPD Digital Passenger Declaration as of July 6, 2022;
  • Removal of self-tests on arrival as of July 6, 2022.

However, you must have a valid visa: eVisitor Subclass 651 visa for EU citizens, ETA Subclass 601 visa for non-EU citizens.

To New Zealand

IMPORTANT: Changes to travel restrictions from 12 September 2022:

  • Removal of mandatory vaccinations;
  • Removal of pre-departure testing;
  • Removal of self-testing on arrival.

As of Thursday, October 20, 2022, the Travel Declaration (NZTD) will no longer be required for all travelers to New Zealand.

To French Polynesia

To Singapore

As of Monday February 13 2023, all COVID-19 sanitary requirements to Singapore are lifted.

Nevertheless, all travellers are required to present the SG Arrival Card with electronic health declaration, except those in transit (with a same day connection). It will be checked on departure from your origin airport.

Applying for an SG Arrival Card is free of charge and must be done on the official Singapore government website within 3 days prior to your arrival. A new SG Arrival Card must be applied for each time you visit Singapore.

  • Please be advised that electronic cigarettes are not permitted in Singapore, in transit and at Changi Airport. Therefore, please ensure that you do not carry electronic cigarettes either on your person, in your carry-on luggage, or in your checked luggage.

To Japan

If you are triple vaccinated :

The presentation of a negative PCR test carried out less than 72 hours before the flight is no longer required for travellers with a full vaccination schedule (3 doses). The authorised vaccines are : Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Janssen and 2 doses only for : Novavax and Covaxin/Bharat Biotech. The information on the vaccination certificates (name and surname, date of birth, vaccine name, date of vaccination and number of doses) must be written (or translated) in Japanese or English.

However, some restrictions related to your country or region of stay prior to your arrival in Japan still apply:

If you are unvaccinated :

However, a negative PCR test less than 72 hours old is still required for unvaccinated persons, in addition to regional restrictions. Only the model certificate issued by the Japanese Ministry of Health should be used in this case.

Note :

  • All persons (vaccinated or unvaccinated) intending to travel to Japan will be required to complete an online form regarding quarantine procedures. We strongly recommend the use of Fast Track (pre-registration is required), which simplifies quarantine procedures. Those who have registered for Fast Track do not need to fill in the questionnaire.

To Vanuatu

From 12 September 2022, all health requirements for Vanuatu have been removed.

It is strongly recommended to be vaccinated against COVID-19, but unvaccinated persons are also allowed to travel to Vanuatu.

To Wallis and Futuna

Passengers traveling from New Caledonia to Wallis and Futuna on direct flights are no longer subject to sanitary restrictions. 

However, people travelling to Wallis and Futuna and in transit to Nandi (Fiji), will have to be fully vaccinated from the age of 16. People who have not been vaccinated will have to justify a compelling reason to travel to the territory.

Other destinations

The passengers travelling to a non french country and requested to show a negative covid 19 PCR test for their travel, need to make sure to have a both french and english translation of the test. The translation of the document can be requested at the test center.
